I was born and raised in South Africa and I often joke about being born with a camera in my hand as my earliest memories involve cameras thanks to my Grandparents, in particular my Oupa (Grandfather). I was fortunate enough to travel this beautiful country with them as a child and He would stop in the most interesting and/or scenic places  where I was able to capture anything my heart desired. My Ouma (Grandmother) would take me to have the films developed and often she would shake her head at me when we’d go through the photos together, she didn't always understand what I was seeing through the lens, but my Oupa always did and he encouraged me to think outside of the box, he allowed me the freedom of exploring my love of art, light, angles and ideas. He and I also shared a passion for Space and the unknown. 

Sadly he passed away in 2017. There isn't a day where I don't miss him, and even though I am shooting more portraiture and editorials these days, I still reminisce and find myself overwhelmed with gratitude with every shoot, for our time we had together and for this insatiable passion I have for photography.

 

I was self and “Oupa” taught for many years but I had always wanted to get some education behind my name and in 2019 I had the opportunity to study Digital Photography through UCT (University of Cape Town).

 

While I don't like titles when it comes to photography as I love ALL genres of photography, I do tend to lean more towards cinematic portraiture which derives from my love of film and cinematography. I hope to invoke the same feelings I get when watching a great cinematic movie where the visuals take your breath away and you get lost in the storyline.

To end off, I have two Dachshund who are my world! An incredible husband and family who inspire and encourage me to be better and follow my dreams. And the ocean is my happy place.
